Profile 1/3 (Investigator/Martyr)

Background

The Geometry of the Personal Destiny Trigram begins with Profile 1/3 – the first of the 12. Roles and Personification form the Foundation of our Human Experience. The 1/3 is the only Profile with both Lines in the Lower Trigram. At this Foundational Level, the 1st Line represents Conscious Personality, Mind, and how we Think. The 3rd Line represents Unconscious Design, Body, and our Physical Experience in the Mundane world. We are a species driven by Fear for our Survival, Investigating until we Understand or find Security through a Solid Foundation. This isn’t always possible in the ever-changing world we live in, but the pursuit of this Security shifts and guides our species forward. Mutation is a Continuous Process of Discovering what doesn’t work, allowing us to survive. Profile 1/3 sets the Theme for the Continuous human journey of encountering, investigating, resolving, and understanding the Unknown.

Investigators Martyr are very Insecure when not on Solid Ground, driven to seek Authorities that can provide a safe ground for their Trial and Error Process.

Their egocentric Investigative Personalities are highly Creative and are Healthier and more Productive when well-prepared and Educated. 1/3s love their long hours of Introspection and find Strength in ultimately establishing themselves as Authorities, so that their personal Destiny remains in their hands. Their Martyr vehicles or bodies are Designed to Discover how to navigate the material plane, by colliding with things or getting bumped, both literally and figuratively. Adaptable and Resilient, they are capable of rising up and announcing the Truth about what doesn’t work to the world.

Personal

You are constantly focused on finding inner strength through a secure Foundation, while your Unconscious Design naturally collides with things that continuously surprise both you and others with ‘accidental’ discoveries. You possess a deep Inner Destiny and can be like a chameleon, not desiring to draw too much attention to yourself until you feel secure as an Authority. Gray areas might make you feel weak and uncomfortable, prompting you to seek Answers. You are an open and willing Student, on a Path to Develop Strength through Mastery.

You are here to be Responsible for your Life, as well as a Voice and Authority Figure in your Field of Competence. Learning about Relationships is a lifelong journey of Trial and Error, as you travel with your head down, absorbed in Introspection, even though you encounter others along the way. When something in a relationship isn’t Safe or Harmonious, you may feel discomfort and break the Bond. So, you’ll renegotiate the Bond, either reinforcing it or bringing it to a conclusion. This can happen repeatedly, and it’s the right way for your Relationships to deepen and stay healthy or come to completion so that you can move on to one that works.

In addition, the Martyr side tends to see all of life as a potential lie, even as the Investigative part seeks solid Truth to build Authority around. You can’t be lied to, and even as a child, you quickly discerned who was telling the truth and whom you could trust. If you can let go, your Strategy and Authority will rightly guide you through life, while your 1st Line Personality will enhance the ‘Trial and Error’ process with future Investigations. It’s also important for you to control your Environment in order to feel free and progress organically from one discovery to another. You are empowered when encouraged to Investigate or Speak the Truth about what doesn’t Work.

Interpersonal

Martyrs are often blamed for mistakes that aren’t even theirs, which can weaken their self-esteem and create an ‘us against them’ mentality, feelings of shame, or an Inferiority complex. If they and those around them understand that Life is a simple and constant process of Trial and Error, encountering Discoveries that can support a solid Foundation, they can find strength in their Journey. The focus must always remain on what has been learned from Experience, rather than the perception of having made a mistake for which they must be punished or ridiculed. This is ‘Positive Reinforcement,’ particularly important when raising a 1/3 child. When properly encouraged, the moment 1/3 children discover that the foundation doesn’t work, there’s potential for a Wonderful, Ingenious, Creative Discovery to occur.

Though they may seem stubborn or resistant to taking advice from others, in truth, 1/3 Profiles must do things on their own through direct experience in order to discover and learn. Parents can be their strongest allies, encouraging them to ‘try and then tell me what you’ve learned,’ rather than ‘look what you did wrong.’ This allows 1/3s to learn through discovery, encouraging them to continue this process throughout their lives, enabling them to contribute to Humanity and improve life for all of us. The only true failure for a 3rd Line is not learning from their Trial and Error process. Investigators Martyr can become self-sufficient on the material plane when encouraged to take care of themselves.

The chain of 12 Profiles starts with 1/3 and ends with 6/3. The 3rd Line Themes of Mutation, Trial and Error, Discovery, Collision with Things, Bonds Made and Unmade, are significant and prominent in Humanity. These are Themes of the Mundane world that bind us all and allow our species to continue evolving. All 6 Lines live a 3rd Line process in the first 30 years of life, thus half of the 12 Profiles carry a 3rd Line theme. The 3rd Line is Designed to operate in the Density of the Material World and within that World, it discovers who it is.
